Can the facility be used by non-members of the university?

Yes, it can. Researchers from research institutions and companies can use this facility, regardless of whether they are in Japan or overseas.

How do I pay the usage fee?

We will send a notice stating the quarterly usage details to registered users the month after the end of the quarter.
Example: For usage from April to June, users will be sent notices in July.
After confirming the notice, if you are on campus, send a reply informing us of your payment intermediary, and if you are not, send us a replay informing us of your billing address.
We will then send you an invoice. If you are not on campus, payment will be processed by bank transfer, and if you are on campus, payment will be deducted from your payment intermediary.

What should I do when I don’t know the sample condition and microscope setting method?

If you include support when reserving the facility, or outsource your work, we will support you as much as possible, from image acquisition to analysis.
– When including support with your reservation, our staff will be present and give the user advice on parameters etc. while the user operates the equipment.
– When outsourcing, our staff will be present or perform imaging operations themselves.

What features are included in the NISELEMENTs and IMARIS analysis software?

Both NISELEMENTs and IMARIS have basically been installed with full specifications. Please consult us regarding your desired analysis, such as segmenting, tracking, brightness measurement, or neuro analysis.

What kind of peripheral equipment can I use?

When observing live cell samples, you can acquire images in an incubator-like environment using the culture system for microscope and a carbon dioxide cylinder.
When observing biological samples, you can acquire images under temperature and heart rate control using an anesthesia vaporizer, oxygen cylinder, electrocardiogram, and heat plate.
In addition, objective lenses suitable for Tissue-Clearing Reagent, etc. are available. Please contact us.

What should I do if I want to cancel after making a reservation?

Reservations cannot be canceled from the website. Please contact the center as soon as possible concerning cancellation.

How can I take my image data home?

The data can be recorded via USB. Please bring a USB memory stick when using the equipment.

When is first-time operation instruction required?

Please be sure to attend first-time operation instruction when using the center for the first time, or before using the system without support.
When using equipment for commissioned testing, only the center usage guide is available.
Instruction will be provided for each user to prevent omission of necessary precautions, etc.
Please do not provide instruction based on information from other people, such as those using the same laboratory.

How should I write about the microscope system and acknowledgments in my paper?

Please refer to the example shown on the paper list page.
